Hello friends of Cathie!
Now that Cathie's treatments are underway and we are seeing how all this functions in real life, we have revised our system for handling some needs. And we are ready to launch our first big fundraiser! I'll get to that in a minute, but first I'd like to list some opportunities for you to bless the Smith's right now in some very real and tangible ways. All contact information for coordinators listed below is on the sidebar.
1) We need volunteers to help with ironing. Please contact Lynn Merrill to sign up for this.
2) We need monetary donations to defray the cost of housekeeping service. You can use the Paypal button below or give a cash/check donation to Jennifer Elo.
3) We need people willing to pick up and drive the children to/from school and activities sometimes on a regular schedule and sometimes on a last-minute as needed thing. Along with this we also need people willing to watch the children at their home or yours some days or evenings, again sometimes scheduled and sometimes as needed. Please contact Sarah Sheppard to help in this area.
4) The meal calendar has new spots open. Please sign up!
Now for the fundraiser....drumroll please!
We will be holding an on-line silent auction via facebook. The first thing we need to get this rolling is donations of items to auction. There is no theme or anything of the sort but here are some ideas:
1) Collectible items: Antique books, sports memorabilia, art
2) Services: photography sessions and prints, baby sitting, lessons of any sort
3) New or VERY gently used baby/kid items.
4) Jewelry and accessories
5) Gift Certificates
6) Sporting Equipment
7) Made to order items (you can specify that you will make more than one!)
8) Experiences, events, trips, tickets
Depending on the response we get, we will decide whether we will list everything at once or add items over time. If you want to donate an item, but would like to specify a minimum bid, please let me know.
If you have items to donate that would not be "nice" enough for the auction but would still do well in a garage sale, please let us know as we will be holding a garage sale in the spring.
We also need a volunteer to photograph the items and catalogue them so that we can post them online.
Please email Kristy Pawlak with donations for this fundraiser.

Welcome to our website! This site has been established to support and help Cathie Smith and her family has she undergoes treatment for Stage IV melanoma. It is our goal to use this site to consolidate and centralize efforts of the many people who love and care for Cathie.
This site will change periodically as new needs arise and new efforts are launched. You can subscribe my email to be sure to be notified when new posts are added to the site.
Over the next week, many changes will be made to the site including emails and links for you to sign-up to help in various ways. Please be in prayer for the part you might be able to play in this effort.
For now, there are links to the right for a meal calendar and prayer calendar sign-up. Please check them often as new slots are opened regularly.
A link for direct financial contributions to help pay for medical expenses and other financial burdens will be live later today.
Thank you in advance for Standing With Cathie In His Grip with us!
